Junior Book Nook Club
The Junior Book Nook Club encourages and rewards children for reading and reviewing books. Each child joining receives a Reading Log booklet, with booklets specially designed for children in p1-3 and p4-7. After each review, the child brings their log into The Book Nook to have it stamped and on completion of their first three reviews, they are awarded a Bronze Certificate. Four further reviews reaches Silver level and then five more to achieve Gold.
Petra Baillie, the children’s author and illustrator, lives in Stewarton and is also a primary school teacher. Petra kindly designed and illustrated the reading logs and certificates to be appropriate for the age ranges.
Monthly meetings - Junior Book Nook Club
We hold monthly meetings for Junior BookNookers from p4-p7 in The Book Nook.
Children will be provided with a juice/water and snack. There will be a storytelling session and then children will be encouraged to tell others about the book they are reading or have enjoyed ( absolutely no pressure to talk though!) and can fill out a section on their reading log.
